Native American Tribes Receive First Opportunity to Obtain Certain Commercial FM Stations

In late 2011, The Federal Communications Commission created a short-cut for Tribes seeking to obtain new commercial FM stations to serve Tribal Lands.  http://transition.fcc.gov/Daily_Releases/Daily_Business/2011/db1229/FCC-11-190A1.pdf The new approach is designed to assure Tribal applicants the first opportunity to apply for such stations, free from competition from non-Tribal applicants.
