Commercial AM and FM Auction Ends
Auction 109 has ended.
Auction 109 included 139 new stations. However, only 97 of the channels were sold.
The two channels with the highest bids are a channel near Sacramento and a channel near Dallas.

Is Zonecasting Coming to FM Boosters?
Today the FCC’s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that may permit zonecasting by FM booster stations was published in the Federal Register.
Comments are due by February 10, 2021. Reply comments are due on or before March 12, 2021.

Radio Program Nonduplication Rules End Today
The FCC order repealing the nonduplication rule was published in the Federal Register today.
That rule prohibited same-service radio stations serving the same area from substantially duplicating their programming.
The FCC voted in August to abolish that rule.

FCC Extends Low Power FM Filing Window
On Friday, October 18th, the Media Bureau announced that the deadline for filing Form 318 applications for new low power FM (LPFM) stations will be extended from October 29, 2013 until November 14, 2013, 6:00 p.m. EST.

LPFM Window Opens October 15, 2013
On June 17, 2013, the FCC formally announced the dates for the next LPFM filing window. The window will open on October 15, 2013, and close at 6:00 pm EDT on October 29, 2013. The Commission must receive electronically filed applications no later than 6:00 PM EDT on October 29, 2013.

Settlement Period Opens for 2003 MX Translator Applications
On May 21, 2013, the Media Bureau announced a two-month period ending July 22 , 2013 for Auction 83 applicants with proposals that are mutually exclusive with other proposals. Applicants may enter into settlement agreements or resolve the mutual exclusivities by means of engineering solutions.

Allotment and Assignment Rules and Procedures Modified
On October 12, 2012, the FCC issued and Order that clarifies certain aspects of the new policies for evaluating mutually exclusive proposals for radio service, as well as for considering applications to change a station’s community of license, under Section 307(b) of the Communications Act.

New Tribal Priority Process Takes Effect July 2, 2012

New LPFM and FM Translator Rules Released
On March 19, 2012 the FCC released an Order that modifies rules to implement certain provisions of the Local Community Radio Act of 2010.
